11:30AM - update

Well looks like this will be my last term here at OSU. In celebration, I will be taking classes that I actually want to take. Well except for biology. Anyway, since I don't need any more prerequisites for nursing school, I decided to take classes like body sculpting and relaxation. I plan on signing up for a glass blowing class at the craft center. I feel like I need to get back in touch with art because it's something that I have put off too long and I really do enjoy it. I think most of it has to do with the fact that the weather has been getting nicer. The sun drives me to paint. Anyway..my family is finally doing great. I feel like we are on a whole different level of connectedness. My brother got accepted to OSU :) The dog still needs some training..which I plan to work on this summer. I remember when we went to pick him up. My dad had to choose the biggest puppy there..the one the owners called "orange fat boy." Yep..he has lived up to his name. Well..he's not really fat...more like a bruiser. I sent off 11 applications to nursing schools all over Oregon with 2 more to go. I have reached this point in my life where I feel like I need to take action but I can't I get so anxious sometimes thinking about what I am going to be doing for the next 3 years of my life. If I don't get in, I have to decide what I want to do....get a BS and join the rest of the those who have to fight for a job after graduation?...do something completely different? If I could do it all over again I would try for med school. Dermatology is something that has always been interesting to me. At the end of these exhausting rants I come to the conclusion that I just need to sit back and wait. That's really all I can do. It's just hard when it's something that decides the rest of your life. Ok enough about school. I have been way more social this year...probably more than I have ever been. I have met tons of really awesome people. I have been to a few themed parties that were pretty fun. The highlighter party was hilarious. JW and Forrest drew all over my face even though I had the white shirt. Man the sun is awesome! I can't wait to hop back on that longboard. This summer will be amazing too. More trips to California for sure!! J and I will celebrate 3 years of being together in May. We're going to plan something huge...like a cruise. Oh yea..I turn 21 in less than a week. That should be awesome. Is it weird that I am more excited to gamble than I am to legally drink? I refuse to puke on my birthday.I can't stand alcohol. The only good kind is the fruity kind and even then it's hard to drink because there's just so much sugar! I get full off of one and then what's the point? I actually found one drink so far that I can tolerate. Basically vodka and grapefruit juice.
Im going shopping Thursday with my roommate Amy. Im stoked. It's been a while since I have bought clothes. Over the last year or so I have come to be tight with money. I've realized that I like to spend my money on experiences rather than material things. So movies, concerts, going to cool places...
ok i need Subway.

6:01PM - summer

I have had an incredible summer! In just a few months I...
flew to Florida to work on some houses
went to California twice
had my first real road trip
finally made it to Disneyland...
California Adventures
Knott's Berry Farm
and the San Diego zoo.
I lived in a house on a 108 acre vineyard with some amazing people
took 9 credits at PCC and got A's in both classes. (haha I finally have the 4.0 in college that I've always wanted ;)
got a monster puppy
set up my new room and had some great times in the new house with new roommates.
went to an amazing Chili Peppers concert
spent the day on the Portland Spirit
went to my first wedding shower..and made a kickass toilet paper dress.

there's so much more to do before school starts

life continues to amaze me
you only get one chance at life. If you don't like something about it..change it. It's not worth it to live like someone else wants you to, or to live in fear of what others might think of you. embrace change. It could be the best thing for you.

10:35PM

Im out of the rain! woo hoo When I was on the jet just a day ago, we were flying through black clouds. Once we were at 30,000 feet, the sky was blue...finally! I love where I am right now. It's gorgeous...but very different. Piggly Wiggly is the popular chain of supermarket. Kangaroo is the gas station. Poe's is the packed little burger joint. People order sweet tea here like water. You know normally the waitress asks if you want pop or water..well here they're like "can I get you some pop or sweet tea?" ...it's so sugary it's like drinking syrup. The houses here are to die for! oh man. In a couple of days I will be touring the plantation house where they filmed parts of the Patriot! I just love it here...everyone has an accent too! The one big thing I hate though is the racism. I feel like I've traveled back in time...there was a shoe-shiner at the Atlanta airport...I've never seen that before. My dad's side of the family isn't helping either..they fly the confederate flag and own a "dead nigger storage" sign. Wow I feel so bad and helpless. It's sad that even to this day there are people that just won't accept the fact that we are all equal. Noone is better than you, and you are not better than anyone else...haha I feel a philosophical debate coming on. Anyway...Im having a great time and soaking up all the sun. I will miss the drawl when I leave. Hope everyone is having an awesome break!
bye yall ;)

Work sucks..but hey...I get money....so no more complaining for me.
Holy crap I almost forgot....everyone needs to google "Taco Town." It's the funniest SNL skit I have seen in a while...well besides the Narnia rap haha. So yea You guys should all go download that.
Ok can't think of anything else right now.
bye

me: "Holy crap is he ok???!"
dad: "yea he's really bumbed though. He ran into a 2005 PT Cruiser"
me thinking: haha good. Those cars are ugly anyway
me: "that sucks. .........................Sooo.....what is he going to drive to school?.............
dad: "your car"

11:49AM

Well Im off to the apartment today for a night or two. yay. I can't wait to get my room cleaned up and unpacked. I just don't know where I going to put everything. All I have is one plastic dresser and a desk with no drawers. I guess I keep everything else in the boxes in the closet? who knows. I guess maybe i should have thought about bringing my book shelf. oh well.

So there't this guy that comes to Home Plate. He looks about 17, so I just figured he was about 17. So we were all talking and some how we came across the topic of concerts. He's lived like all over the united states. He saw Primus in 1989. jeez...that makes him old. He says that he's 30. Holy crap. I will never do drugs. There's this dentist at the church that will fix his teeth. They are pretty bad...he has one rotting in his face and they are all messed up and his bottom teeth are all really tiny. The problem is how to ask the guy if he wants to have his teeth fixed. I hope he doesn't get offended or anything. He's really cool. I feel bad because every night he has a choice of sleeping in a meth house, or sleeping in the park.
Anyway, the rest of that night we talked about really cool concerts and the Andy milonakis show. It's pretty much a show for stoners. It's actually pretty funny, even if you are not tainted.

My last day of hospital volunteering went well. The doctor is trying to sell his old corvette. The '99. you should see his brand new one. *drools*

I got a job at Arnold. I guess I'm going to be a cook help. fun. at least I will make money. then i will be able to road trip during the year!

12:01PM

Well yesterday was my first day of volunteer work at the hospital. I help in the GI lab. My job is to take patients in wheel chairs down to the emergency drop off where their loved ones pick them up. The old guys are the funniest because they're always cracking jokes about "the great service." Then I laugh..and then they leave..and then I roll my eyes. When I go back up to the GI lab, there's always fun paper work to do. When my hands get paper cut, I check out the procedures. GI stands for gastro intestinal.
So that's pretty much what I do. I get a free lunch...and whatever they told you about the hospital food is a lie! It's great. I wonder some times if I am working around your mother...since everyone's mom is a nurse.
Well Thursday is going to be busy. 4 hours at the hospital, then Home Plate. For those of you that don't know what that is, it's in the basement of the Hillsboro UCC church. It's a place where homeless kids can eat a free meal. After that, I need to pack for apartment fun on Friday.

11:23AM - lord

so I went to a couple of garage sales the other day with my mom. Holy crap...people must think their shit is worth gold. So I was looking around and I found some stuff I need for the apartment. I see this spatula for pasta...the kind with the little teeth along the edges..anyway, half of the thing is melted and a couple teeth are missing. "What the hell?!" I say. This must be free. I pick it up and turn it over to see the little bright orange sticker and the number 50 on it. You have to be shitting me!! 50 cents for a piece of shit that should have been thrown out??. Whatever. Im sticking to the dollar tree. Actually I'm going to stick to the 50 cent store in Astoria. At lease their shit is new.

I dedicate this entry to the poor Dollar Wharehouse that went up in flames last night. At least they know their junk is actually worth the dollar.

7:39PM - bored as hell

ok well I am super bored....so I decided there's nothing better to do than pack. So Im listening to chili peppers and packing up all my stuff. Then I decided to take down my lamp. Wow..memories. It seems like just a month ago I was in here and I was trying to put that damn thing up. I guess I was making a lot of noise or something because people decided to come down to my room and check it out. That's the first time I met anyone from the hall and like 5 or 6 of us were trying to put the damn thing together. I would have never guessed that all 5 or 6 were engineering majors by the way they tried to put that lamp together. I wanted to help to, so I decided that I would put the glass part together. bad idea. It broke. Jorma to the rescue...he taught me all I need to know about putting things back together with epoxy. That's not the last time I would see the epoxy either. We used it again trying to fix my heater.
The trunk of my car is completely full.
Im going to miss Thursdays at Ella's watching the O.C. or movies or whatever just to do something and have some fun.
I will miss our random runs to the cunt haha
The beach trips for sure. Those were awesome!
Rides home and the weekends when we made cd's like the "god we're melting" mix and various Portland mixes. I don't have ac in my car. My dad is convinced that rolling down the windows and cruising at 80 is a good enough air conditioner for what I needed.
I will miss All the people from this place. Even though everyone is insane...it's a good insane...if that makes sense.
Blimpies every other day of the week after chem. that was good.
I don't want to say that I will miss craming for chem but I will because it's the company that makes it fun.
The freedom of going where ever I want when I want to.
The very few late night Shari's runs.
The view from my window. haah at home I look at the side of another house, so Im just spoiled with the view of a parking lot.
The summer will be great though.
Im looking forward to the Accetance/Anberlin concert this month..and the Reel big fish one next month...and all the little concerts in between.
I can't wait to be able to go to the drivein in Newberg. I love that place!!
If I get a job, I look forward to having random cash to spend.
Garage sales!! hell yea.
We have to furnish the apartment somehow, and there's no better way than the cheapness of sifting through other people's junk to find couches, kitchen stuff, dressers and beds.
But most of all my favorite part is boating out with the sun shining while fishing and spending time with my boyfriend and closest friends
Yeah this was a good year. I wouldn't change it for anything

12:18AM - hmm

This weekend was great. I've slept in the backseat of a car (and I mean wedged in the leg room), and in a bathtub.
I went to bed at 8 last night and woke up, came back from classes and then took a 3 hour nap. There must be something wrong with me because I sleep waaay too much.
anyway, I went to Camp Adams on friday because I'm going to counsel this summer for 7th and 8th graders again and I wanted to see what the new staff was like. It was pretty lame...not the staff, but the time there. Sunday I was going to go snowboarding but we got up there and the only two camps open were way hard runs and my experience is limited, as in I have none, so we decided to play in the snow instead. It was weird to be in the snow when you know it's so close to summer. Blue skies and everything up there too, I loved it. It was kind of sad though because we were um playing in the snow and David decided to build a snow boner. little did we know, this guy had his little kids playing and he looked over to see a huge..surprise. needless to say, the kids disappeared really fast.
I registered for classes today and got exactly what I wanted...even though the classes sound gross. especially since I have an 8am class MWF.
I have... Sociology 204, Human anatomy 331, philosophy 201, and writing 222
..so 1 science class and 3 chances to BS.

Well, Im tired again..haha
goodnight everyone

7:12PM - hokay so

well I am here at Ella's waiting for the O.C. to start.
Ok I don't see what the big deal is about Star Wars...I watched the third one recently that someone downloaded and it had the little counter on top, so maybe that took away some of the greatness. But the storyline kinda sucked. Every line was cheezy...especially the scenes with Mr. Pretty and Padiwhatsherface. Oh and the chick has the worst death scene EVER. Not like a gory one but seriously she's like..."hi my two perfectly healthy children that look like they could be 5 months old..I have to die now." The cool thing though is now I get a lot of the inside jokes about Star Wars that I didn't know before. Like, this kid we used to call Chewy. haha like Chewbacca..the hairy one..haha.
So, I say...don't go pay for it. Get some kid down the hall to let you watch it in his room. haha and turn it into a drinking game. For every sappy line, you can take a shot. and bring a sleeping bag before you go to the kid's room because if the movie doesn't put you to sleep, the numerous shots will knock you out.

Oh so Ella and I are living together next year in the brown apartments behind the blue apartments (my sense of direction is bad) Anyway we were deciding how to split food costs and so she called some people to find out how they do it. So these guys split the cost of only things they use slowly, like butter and mustard and such and then they buy their own things and label them. I guess that's smart. Then the guy said when he saw his roommate eating out of his bag of chips, he charged him half of the bag. That's a little dramatic.
o.k. O.C. i.s. starting haha
later!

5:36PM - post!

ok so I havent posted since Christmas. oh well i am now!
waiting for Ella so we can work out!
classes are good. If you know me, you know how much i complain about statistics. that class sucks! I have a midterm tomorrow. I think I will do alright though. hopefully. Went to the coast with friends last weekend. That was a blast! It's really cool when your friend ends up having a beach house. So a bunch of people from the hall went to the coast and on the last day we saw whales! That was awesome!!
Tomorrow is O.C. night and supposedly there's a mandatory hall meeting right when the show starts. So, yea, Christy isn't going. Oh well, like we'd talk about anything important anyway. Well I guess i gotta go but I should be posting more regularly if anyone cares.
Hope everyone is doing well!

4:02PM - christmas break

well its finally that time of year where we get 3 weeks off of school. which never made sense because i always figured that we should be getting a longer spring break. So i finally have a stereo system in my car. all this time, my dad had one sitting out in his boat that he hardly ever used. jeez. but thats ok because now its in my car. and i can give my brother his computer speakers back and jw his adapter back.
Well Im pretty much stuck in the house all week because my dad wont let me out of the house because gas costs too much or something like that. So I guess I'll have to go and get a job like old times. if I would have known he was gonna keep me here during the break I would have tried harder to get a job before I left school. oh well whatever. I know where I want to get a job this summer and chances are good that I will get it because I have a connection. yay.
So someone I know is pregnant. and its really sad because she's throwing her life away. and she's so young. and the saddest part is that she's probably not going to get an abortion and give the baby up for adoption. and then I think of all the messed up foster parents there are out there...
i love ebay. i uust got something super cool in the mail but I cant say because it's a christmas gift for someone else. That's the thing I love most about Christmas. I love getting people things and seeing their reactions.
i have to wrap presents. later dudes

8:32PM - hey yall

well i see that I havent posted in a while..or since I've been in college, so Im doing that now. Let's see...my dorm is great. everyone is really nice or really funny so it works out alright. The most entertining nights are Thursdays usually..where everyone gets drunk and stumbles around and it's pretty funny to watch them climb the walls and things they think they can do when they're drunk. Um we've had everything happen down here from skimboarding down the hallways, to climing out the windows to unlock the doors...and everything in between. It really is like the movies down here. Even the sex lives. This morning I walked into the bathroom and a guy and a chick both walked out of the shower. I felt like asking them which one they were in so I could completely avoid it. I dont trust some of the people around here with stuff like that. Oh I had mono all last week so I was pretty sick and slept a hell of a lot. Classes are pretty alright. It's way easier than high school...which worries me haha. I did alright on my midterms I think. As far as relationships, for the first time I've been in one longer than Ella and Karla combined as of right now haha. hey phone i gotta go. later dudes

2:40PM - hmm

wow i havent posted in forever...so i guess i will now. Since I have nothing better to do at the moment. Saw Dodgeball yesterday haha that was sooo funny. and we even saw the milkshake thing at the end of the credits too. I could have lived a happy life without seeing that lol. The mountain festival yesterday was really cool. It's like a much more expensive Saturday Market. and a lot less creepy people too since it's not located under a bridge. I still want to go to that some time though. We saw pigs that do tricks and stuff. they don't fly yet so i wasn' that impressed. a couple days ago I saw the concert thing at the zoo with the old guys and old country songs. I thought that was pretty fun...it was an experience. By the end, everyone was doing the chicken dance. no i'm serious. Later this week I have to go to that Start thing at OSU. I was all afraid of taking the math test because I haven't taken math in more than a year but apparently you take the test and then they ask you if you think you can handle the class and if you can, you're in..so hey i wont worry about that anymore. But yea my summer is going AWESOME. I've been able to spend a lot of time with the people I love so that makes me very happy :) So what has everyone else been up to??
